Learn About The Extra Protocols That Guard Against germs

We Have The Following Protocols In Place To Safeguard Your Family's Health:

SOCIAL DISTANCING

Rearranged classrooms and limited group sizes keep distancing easy.

STAFF WEAR MASKS

This precaution is necessary when in close contact with your child.

FREQUENT SANITIZATION

Division of physical equipment with frequent sanitization between uses.

FEVER CHECKS

Multiple fever checks daily to ensure good health.

TEACHING THE NEW NORMAL

Games teach social distancing. Plus your child learns kind words to ask peers for space.

SAFE DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP

Drop-off and pick-up outside require masks. Please bring a pen for sign-in.

PLAYGROUND PROTOCOL

Playground time is rotated between groups and the area is disinfected between uses.

INSIDE SHOES POLICY

Your child removes their shoes and puts on washable school shoes when inside.

  • Drop-off and pick-up are outside only; masks are required at this time, please bring your own pen for sign-in.
  • At pick-up, please call the school at 301-695-1133 to have your child escorted outside.
  • A clean sheet for your child’s cot with their name in permanent marker. It will remain at school and will be laundered weekly.
  • An extra set of clean clothes in a gallon ziplock bag clearly labeled with your child’s name. Include extra pants, a shirt, socks, underwear, and an outdoor hat.
  • Clean shoes that can remain at school and are easily sanitized. “Croc type” shoes are ideal. No flip flops, please.
  • Bottles and food for infants in a wipeable small cooler bag with the child’s name clearly printed on it.
  • Backpacks, cloth bags
  • Toys, dolls, stuffed animals
  • Car seats or diaper bags
  • Other items from home
  • We have created a dedicated room to isolate anyone who may develop symptoms while in our care until they can be picked up.
  • We ask families to report any possible illness to the Director if anyone in your household shows symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19. Your information is confidential.

If someone exhibits any symptoms, cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea, etc., they will be asked to leave and contact their primary care physician.

If a child, staff member, or a family member has COVID-19 symptoms, we will contact the local health department and licensing consultant for how to handle the next steps.

We ask families to isolate their child for 14 days in case they’ve been exposed to someone infected with COVID-19; the same goes for our staff.

It is recommended that children be fever free without medication for 72 hours before returning to care.
